June 2004 - CS++ VB COM Connectivity with MS Office Suite
Example and application source code dictionary
available, which gives you a good inside look at the way to use Visual
Basic COM object connectivity. Demo applications are only to be
considered as examples and are freeware. No support or technical
liabilities are available for these source code demonstration
applications. The example application file can be downloaded in the free download section.

March 2004 - CS++ PowerServer
CS++ PowerServer service including
PowerServer Monitor available. The PowerServer Monitor uses MS WMI
technology to allow monitoring of the service from remote workstations.
CS++ PowerServer service now has a major performance
improvement, added Client/Server smartness and better error handling
capabilities. For more details see CS++ V6.20 Release notes in the free download section.

January 2004 - CS++ V6.20 Streaming Engineering Update Release
Streaming Engineering Update Release with internal
and performance improvements, corrections of irregularities. 30 days

October 2003 - Systems 2003, Munich
On the Systems 2003 exhibition in Munich, our

July 2003 - CS++ V6.20 commercial release
We are pleased, that the commercial CS++
V6.20 version has been released. This release now has a trial period of
thirty days to allow CS++ developers to license their products with
that period and also to allow people, who are interested in evaluating
CS++, an evaluation period of thirty days. New features
like: optimized winsock timer loops, new master server network setup,
and many many more have been added to that commercial release. See
V6.20 release notes for detailed information.

May 2003 - CS++ next V6.20 beta version
The next CS++
V6.20 beta version has been sent out to our beta testers. For the
activation and registration procedure a send requestform by email
option has been added. A new WorkBench editor with an extended right
mouse popup menu and a new standard word to retrieve license
information has been implemented.

March 2003 - CS++ V6.20 new licence procedure
Due to general market copyright and licensing procedures, a new licensing mechanism has been added to CS++ V6.20. Like Microsoft products, CS++ V6.20 has a trial period for the first installation. Within that trial period CS++
could be evaluated or licensed. A license request form has to be filled
out and sent to AMBER Software. Withing two working days a license
activation key is returned. For further information on the licensing

January 2003 - CS++ V6.20 third beta version/feature extensions
The third CS++
V6.20 beta version with feature extensions is availabe now. A variable
file extension, a ReportMaker preview in WorkBench, example
dictionaries for COM/VB connectivty, new and extended standard
objects and more have been added.

November 2002 - CS++ V6.20 second beta version/Email support
The second CS++ V6.20 beta version has been sent out to our beta testers. CS++
V6.20 has been extended with new SMTP/POP3 Email support. An example
dictionary showing the SMTP/POP3 Email capabilities is availabe on
request.

August 2002 - CS++ V6.20 first beta version
The first CS++ V6.20 beta version is available now. CS++
V6.20 already had a better database integrity and smarter client/server
connections coming from CS++ V6.10, but market and developer
requests lead to several additional new features to be added to
CS++ V6.20 for the programmers convenience. Those are e.g for:
PowerScroll, range_selects, standard objects etc.

Mai 2002 - CS++ HTML help update
The CS++ HTML help has been completely re-checked and revised. Many parts of the HTML help were extended. The CS++ EVALversion in the Free Download section has been updated with the new CS++ HTML help.

March 2002 - CS++ network test utilities available
The complexity of modern operating systems and
networks with many communication layers can sometimes have unexpected
effects on the performance of application software. This is especially
true when the CS++ Client/Server architecture makes continuous use of
the Ethernet-TCP/IP-Winsock layers between the client and server sides.
We have developed some test utilities which allow you to test enduser
networks on relative performance measuring both TCP/IP packet rate
transfer and data access transfer.

January 2002 - CS++ V6.1 first beta version
The first beta version of the new CS++
V6.1 is available now. At the request of developers a Quick Verify has
been implemented, a Preview for the ReportMaker and phase 1 to the
future COM world has been set with the initial VB Connect Interface.
Last but not least changes of product names and file extension name
changes forced on us are also important new announcements.

November 2001 - CS++ V6.1 goes COM
CS++ V6.1 will get the first phase of
an interface to the Component Object Model (COM). In the first phase a
VB Connect mechanism will offer a more modern Interface than the older
DLL Interface. The connection to any COM Automation Object is made with
a small program written using Visual Basic.

October 2001 - CS++ V6.0 first engineering update
The first CS++ engineering update
version is available. Bugs which were reported by our customers have
been fixed and further internal improvements have been implemented.

August 2001 - CS++ V6.1 project started
Networked applications developed with CS++
are more and more installed in large corporate environments. The
requirements for such installations differ from the typical Amber
DeskTop and small Network environment. In V6.1 we have put the emphasis
on improved Database integrity and Client/Server smartness. A first
beta test version is planned beginning of 2002.

June 2001 - CS++ V6 Formal Release
After an extensive beta test period, the new CS++ V6 is now formally released. Thanks to all the beta testers which helped to make this CS++ V6 a solid version. A CS++ V6 EVALuation version is available in the Free Download section.

May 2001 - CS++ V6 HTML WorkBench help
The CS++ V6 HTML WorkBench help project started. A
new modern HTML based help for the CS++ WorkBench is being developed
and it is planned to release the new help during summer.

April 2001 - CS++ V6 second beta version
The second CS++ beta version is available. All
bugs which were reported by the many beta testers have been fixed and
further internal improvements have been implemented.

February 2001 - CS++ V6 PowerScroll project
The CS++ V6 PowerScroll improvement project has
finishes. PowerScroll extensions and refinements were made for focus
behaviour, update speed and programming facilities. It is now possible
to program the PowerScroll from within verbs, where it does not matter
if the verbs are called in a postphrase or in an event filter.

January 2001 - CS++ V6 first beta version
The first beta version of the new CS++ V6.00 is
available now. Beta testers made intensive benchmark and application
tests with the new TCP/IP MasterServer NLM. The tests showed, that the
new TCP/IP NLM is about 4 -5 times faster than the old IPX/SPX NLM. In
certain hardware environments, the speed increased up to 10 times. The
new graphic library, which supports a lot of various graphic file
formats and the new email connectity words were appreciated by the beta
testers.

November 2000 - CS++ V6 announcement
The new CS++ V6 developing has almost finished. In
particular the developing of the TCP/IP NLM MasterSever for high
performance, the new graphic library and the email connectivity words.
The first beta version for CS++ V6 is planned for the beginning of the
next year.

August 2000 - CS++ Control extensions
Many extensions on control properties have been
implemented. That is e.g. PowerScroll improvements regarding less
flickering and faster drawing, also resource optimization for the
PowerScroll. The edit control has now extended possibilities to handle
julian dates in connection with the Event filter.

April 2000 - CS++ V 5.3 upgrade release
In the CS++ V 5.3 upgrade release major
extensions and refinements have been added. A strong new feature is
"Guessing" in the PowerScroll which has now been implemented,
additional more control of FONTS and COLORS in PS cells is one of the
many extension in the PowerScroll. MS Terminal Server Edition of NT and
W2000 is now a standard connectivity feature in CS++. Also
ExtraNet connectivity with the internet has been incorporated in our
resource saving WorkBench for Windows. Support of HTML contect help is
also one of the many new features. See for yourself on the FREE

September 1999 - CS++ V 5.2 release utilities
In addition to the CS++ V 5.2 version new
utilities have been released. A new version of the TRANSLATOR is now
available. For connectivity to COM ports the first version of the
ComPort utility has been released.

Mai 1999 - CS++ V 5.2 release
In CS++ V 5.2 50 new features and
improvements have been added to Menu, WorkBench, WindowMaker, Window,
PowerScroll, Help, Report, Trace Dialog and more. Runtime resizing of
Controls and Windows, main and child Toolbar in menu, Tooltip text for
Toolbar and Controls and extensions for Tree objects are the major

December 1998 - CS++ V 5.1 Upgrade release
CS++ V 5.1 Upgrade has been released. You can download the 40 pages technical release notes in the free download area (Documentation). The hierarchy Links Tree Object and the SQL ODBC Connectivity
are the major new features of this release. Further many new Standard
Class Objects and internal improvements have been implemented. APPLICAT
has been updated and provides you with examples of the SQL connectivity.

October 1998 - SQL ODBC Connectivity Version
SQL connectivity has been implemented with the MS ODBC standard. 15 new standard objects have been added in the CS++ WorkBench library. So full SQL script communication can be realized with the majority of the SQL Back-End Servers.

September 1998 - PowerScroll improvements
An update of the PowerScroll DLL has been released. It
has improved speed, smoother and faster scrolling, better handling for
moving columns and better data manipulation management. Also new CS++ standard words for manipulating the PowerScroll and new event messages have been added.

July 1998 - 32 Bit Graphic DLL
The Heiler Graphic DLL and the Heiler Text DLL have been
released now in 32 Bit. Both, Custom Control Heiler primitives as well
as component based instructions. There are now more than 200 primitives
in CS++ to control Graphic and Text DLL.

May 1998 - CSTOOLS Version 3.0 English and German
CSTools Version 3.0 for 32 Bit CS++
WorkBench Version 5.0 has been released in the German and English
language. Besides the implementation of the Multiple Tab and Dynamic
Tree View, functions for comparing and merging different applications
have also been added. A test version of CSTools is available on the download page of this Website.

March 1998 - CS++ V5.0 32 Bit commercial launch at CeBIT
The AMBER CS++ 32 Bit WorkBench has been
made available to AMBER Application Developers who require more power,
in particular with Windows NT operation system. The MULTIPLE TAB,
DYNAMIC TREE, extended PowerScroll and many more features allow the
application programmer to further extend the userinterface with a
minimum of effort. Early users of CS++
Version 5.0 claim an unknown productivity and flexibility increase in
combination with the highest possible comfort for commercial
transactional Windows application development. Version 5.0 evaluation
kit is available as a free download on AMBER's Website.

January 1998 -CS++ Heiler text and graphic DLL release
A well known WordProcessor and Graphics DLL has been connected to CS++
WorkBench and Client installations. A complete transparant integration
of the WORD like text processor and 3D color graphics allows the
application developer now to integrate these extensions with a minimum
of resources. The Heiler DLL has been choosen as it has a worldwide
reputation and is available, besides in English, in many European
languages.

November 1997 - CS++ Upgrade Release Version 4.6
After an intensive test period our latest upgrade for the CS++
WorkBench has been released to AMBER developers during November. Richer
visual and hence more productive WindowMaker and Reportmaker are one of
the many new features. Additional powerful objects have been made
available in conjunction with internal performance improvements. CS++
main Unique Selling Point (USP) 'more than doubling the application
programmers productivity and flexibility ' has been further developed.

October 1997 - CS++ 32 bit version 5
The AMBER CS++ 32-bit version for more powerful
applications in particular on Windows NT has started its early beta
test period. Reports of selected AMBER developers are extremely
positive, in particular the multi TAB object is appreciated. Commercial
release is expected at the turn of this year. Existing AMBER CS++ version 4 customers can convert their application with minor effort. The AMBER CS++
version 4 ServerEngine is 32-Bit today. The 32-Bit version contains a
faster functionality, has an improved Client-Server communication and
is upgraded to the 32-Bit Microsoft Foundation Class Library (MFC 32).

September 1997 - Travel Knowledge Base installed
IFF GmbH (Institut für Freizeitanalysen) has commercially released
BIS.TRO, the first Travel Knowledge Base available under Windows
written with AMBER CS++.
Professor W. Reulecke from the University of Bochum (Germany)
developed this Knowledge Base for Tourist Travel Agencies to give them
an easy and fast search for Package Tours. BIS.TRO allows a worldwide
search across all offers for Package Tours by a huge number of
selection criteria. The Travel Agent can show the customer very fast
his individual offers without searching through the travel catalogues.

July 1997 - CS++ Upgrade Release Version 4.5
In this upgrade release the major improvements were done
on the Printer Selection and Printer Driver information and on the
PowerScroll. New standard words for the PowerScroll in connection with
the new PowerScroll Focus Filter provide a much more flexible
programming. Also new features in the WindowMaker and ReportMaker such
as Space Evenly in the Common Property Sheet, Owner Drawn Push
Buttons with text, Color and Font classes have been improved and added.

June 1997 - Launch of the AMBER Software Webpage
The purpose of our site is twofold, making information
about our products and company available to potential customers and
having a download facility available for CS++ TestKit users and upgrades. A fully functional testversion of the AMBER CS++ WorkBench including technical manual is available in english and german and is located in the free download area.
